Hello all!!! I am so excited to get back into blogging! But before I get ahead of myself, perhaps I need to reintroduce myself.
My name is Farrah, I used to blog using: Fairy Healthy Life. That was such a great time in my life. I met so many amazing people through running, becoming a yoga instructor and personal trainer in El Paso where I grew up and also made some online friends that I eventually was able to meet in person. That has to be one of my favorite highlights about blogging. I eventually stopped blogging because it just became too much. I was going through a really hard time in my life and I just couldn’t stand to write anymore about how much I ran that day, what I ate, or to try to motivate someone when my home life was falling apart. It felt forced and it felt completely fake. So I had to step away. I even stepped away from social media for a while. It was what I needed. I knew I would heal. I know how I strong I am. But even now, this is still a little hard to write. Down the road, I will share more about what I went through because I know it will help someone. But that is not the purpose of today.
I had to get rid of my old blog because I simply couldn’t access it anymore, I was having too many technical issues. I gave up after a couple of months of trying to get it to work. I have been itching to blog since around December. I want to share my life with you, just as I did before. Especially with my friends and family who I don’t get to see on a regular basis.
Today I am sitting in our home in North Carolina, a beautiful place to live. I am remarried. I am teaching yoga. I am happy. More importantly, my girls are happy. I ran today. And boy, I will never regret that. We have lived here for almost 2 years. I have made a few amazing friends, which honestly, I didn’t think would happen. I have friends in El Paso, that when I left, I knew I would never meet such unique and loving individuals like them. I miss them so much along with my family, I think of them every day (I hope you guys are reading). Now I realize I don’t need to try to replace my friends because that is impossible. But my heart has been open to new ones and new experiences. I’m so grateful and thankful thus far. I’m having a blast.
I am more motivated than I have been in a long time. A couple of days ago I signed up for the half marathon I want to run this year, I try to do at least one a year. It is in Raleigh in November; the perfect time to run here. It has been a bit of a challenge to acclimate to the weather here. It is very humid most of the year, compared to very dry El Paso, which I loved and was used to. But each week I’m getting stronger, analyzing my workouts. No more back pain!! Now I just need to clean up my diet!!
So now I’d like to hear from you! Tell me, did you read my old blog? Are you a new friend? What would you like for me to talk about? I really appreciate your input. As for what I want, when you read my words, I want you to feel like I am sitting across from you, drinking a coffee, or something a little stronger ;), relating and laughing like we have before. Living our lives with purpose. It’s what works, it keeps us going. That’s my goal here. I hope you’ll stick around.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, new and old friends!
